Cwrt-y-Gollen standing stone (also known as the Growing Stone) SO232168

A member reported the following, which was referred to NPA for comment;-
“Although it is situated on the edge of the site of an army cadet training centre (a part that is no longer in military use) it is being used as a cricket ground for a local club and the locals use the area as park. As we arrived a man was opening the closed gate to get his car in and we said can we come in. He said no its private land, if the owners find out the police will be called.”

NPA’s response is

“My understanding is that there is no public access. The cricket ground would be used by prior arrangement. I am not clear what the situation is with the locals using the park. However, the stone appears to be is a separate enclosure to both of these.”
