Apology for Problems at the Talk on the 14th March

Hiking the Pilgrims’ Way to Santiago – talk at the Bear, Crickhowell 14th March

We would like to sincerely apologise to all those people who were unable to gain entrance to Roger White’s talk last night.  Unexpectedly the event was dramatically oversubscribed which meant unfortunately that for capacity reasons, some members were denied access and some of those did not receiving an explanation and apology.

Numbers at our talks vary considerably and it is very difficult to predict what the level of uptake will be. However it is clear that improvements are needed to ensure last night’s situation does not arise again. The committee are already reviewing our present practices and looking at how to improve the management of the talks.

We would appreciate members’ thoughts on how you would prefer to see the talks organised, so if you have ideas you would like to share please contact Janet via the Events Section of the website

Again, if you were unable to obtain seating for Roger’s talk last night, please accept our apologies for any disappointment and frustration you understandably felt.

Jim Wilson (Chair)

Janet Callear (Events Secretary)

    Hi Janet,
FYI I am having difficulty in accessing tickets for tomorrow evening’s ‘Offa’s Dyke’ talk. I am familiar with using eventbrite, your suggested means of obtaining tickets, but using your link the only event I can find listed there is one for May which has already passed.
Are there tickets left? I don’t want to travel an hour each way to find that there are no spaces left.
    Thank you, Lorraine
