Weather
The weather can affect the perceived difficulty o a walk considerably. It is also useful to know what conditions are likely to be like, so you come prepared. It may be fine at home, but mountain areas can be quite different.
We recommend that you check a weather forecast before setting out.
Weather Forecasts
There are many websites that give you weather forecasts.
The Met Office. This is the main UK weather forecast service and gives specialist weather forecasts for Bannau Brycheiniog.
MWIS. The Mountain Weather Information Service also has specialist forecasts.
Mountain-Forecast.com. Has forecasts for individual peaks in the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains
Webcams
There are a number of webcams around the National park where you can see live pictures of the area.
Abergavenny. This looks towards the north face of Blorenge from Gilwern.
There are also webcams at the NP Visitor Centre at Libanus and also the Gliding Club at Talgarth. At present these do not seem to be available. We will update this page when they are back on line.
