Living Wells Workshops

On behalf of Keep Wales Tidy and the partners to the ‘Living Wells’ Project GKA is pleased to invite you to a workshop-style meeting to discuss and comment on the emerging plans for a series of Living Wells project ‘Activities’ that we sincerely hope will form the basis of a successful Stage 2 bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).

You may already know that the Living Wells project aims to significantly raise awareness, interest and community engagement in the restoration, conservation and celebration of historic wells in Wales – building on the excellent work being undertaken in communities across the country. Many of you have already contributed significantly, helping us to get the project through to this, the ‘development’ stage. This is your opportunity really shape what happens next should the project move on and into the ‘delivery’ stage with HLF’s support.

The meeting will be facilitated by Gareth Kiddie Associates (GKA) the team of experienced heritage consultants commissioned to develop a project ‘Activity Plan’ in line with HLF guidance. There is a choice of three venues (although we expect most people will wish to attend the meeting closest to them). The meetings will be informal and interactive and there will be opportunities to network with other people with an interest in historic wells in Wales.

We recognise that not everybody will be able to commit to a full day, so we have organised the agenda in two parts (see attached). The main meeting will take place in the morning starting at 10.00 a.m. and finishing with a free buffet lunch at 1.00 p.m. There will then be an option to stay on after lunch for a session between 1.45 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. which will be much more discursive with time set aside to pick up in more detail on questions raised in the morning session.

The dates and venues are as follows:

  • Brecon Cathedral Tithebarn Heritage Centre – 10th November
  • Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, Llanbedrog, Pwllheli- 15th November
  • Ty’r Pererin – Education and Pilgrimage Centre, St David’s – 20th November

If you would like to register your interest to attend one of the meetings please respond indicating which venue you would like to attend and whether or not you would like to stay on for the afternoon session.

RSVP via email to [email protected] by Wednesday 1st November, or call Gareth Kiddie on (07984) 127811 if you have any queries.
