Illustrated Talk: Dhaulagiri Circuit

Allan Gibbs is taking us to the Himalayas in an illustrated talk on his eventful expedition to Dhaulagiri.  This will be on Wednesday 7^th December at 7.30pm in The Bear Hotel, Crickhowell.

Dhaulagiri is the seventh highest peak in the world, and it was first climbed in 1960.  Allan will be telling us the story of a trek which he led around the mountain in October last year, including a climb to a 20,000 foot summit on one of the neighbouring peaks.  There were no tea houses on this route and it was an eventful trip with several helicopter evacuations!

Allan is an International Mountain Leader.  He is also a member of the Brecon Beacons Park Society and, in a voluntary capacity, acts as our technical adviser.
