We’re on the tramroad to …

Chris Barber, author, local historian and BBPS member gave a superbly illustrated talk last night at The Bear Hotel, showing through his many photographs the history of Hill’s Tramroad.  Comparison of photographs from the 1960s with those taken more recently showed how buildings and structures have fallen into disrepair and often demolished as a consequence.  It would be good to think that the process allowing deterioration and demolition resulted from a careful assessment of the history of the area, keeping important structures and landscapes for future generations – but do we?  . . . and should we be doing more!
