Executive Committee Minutes Secretary

We are looking for a volunteer to become Executive Committee Minutes Secretary.

The Executive Committee meets every six weeks in the Bear Hotel and for 10 years we have been very fortunate to have had the services of Richard Chandler, but last year he gave up this task. We have been sharing the minute taking around members of the Executive since then, but it is difficult to take notes and participate actively in the meeting. So, we are searching for a Society Member to take on this role. This is our preferred route, but, failing that, we will need to look outside the membership for a paid person to take on the role.

If you are willing to become Minutes Secretary for the Executive Committee, please email [email protected].

So as you know what is expected of the Minutes Secretary:- The Executive Committee meets in the Bear Hotel every 6 weeks on a Tuesday afternoon starting at 1.30pm. The Minutes Secretary will be expected to attend each meeting, which lasts between 2-3 hours. The notes from the meeting will then need to be transcribed and circulated to the Executive for corrections to be made and a final version sent out prior to the next Executive. In addition to the regular Executive Committee meetings the Minutes Secretary will also need to attend the AGM and take minutes.

If this appeal fails, we will have to look outside the Society, and we will be asking Members to forward an advertisement to people they know who may be interested. But we would rather not use the Society’s resources in this way.
