Bookng Process Explained
We have introduced a booking system for all our walks so as to keep numbers under control for a pleasant experience for everyone and to minimise the work for our volunteers.
- Please do not email the Walks Secretary unless you encounter a problem.
- Booking normally closes at 6pm on the evening before the walk to allow the leader to download the list of attendees. However, there may be places available, so try texting or ringing the walk leader.
- If you need to cancel a place later than 2pm the day before the walk, please also call or text the walk leaders so they are aware and can open up the booking to the first on the WaitList.
- Note that Booking opens 14 days before the walk date. When booking is unavailable, before that date, and after it has closed as above, you will see a message saying "Booking Closed".
- Please cancel a WaitList reservation if you no longer need it as it moves the next person up the queue.
- Note that this process also applies to booking Events.
How to book and manage your walks – Members Only.
- Always ensure you are logged into the website.
* On a computer by looking top right and if the green box says “Bookings” you are logged in.
* On a phone or tablet there is a person icon top right click on that and, if you are logged in it will take you to your bookings page.
* If you have not registered/logged in clicking the Log In box/icon you can log in or register. - To book a place on a walk, click on the “Guided Walks” green box in the centre of the Homepage or click on the menu item “Walking” and then “Guided Walks”.
Scroll down to the “View Walks and Events” green box. - Select your walk and book your place(s).
- If the walk is full, you can reserve a place on the WaitList.
- If you wish to cancel either your booking on the walk or your place on the WaitList click on the “Bookings” green box, top right, or click on the menu “Walking” and then “Bookings”.
Scroll down to the booking you wish to cancel and select “Cancel” on the right hand side of the page.
You can use this page to check all your bookings and WaitList reservations at any time. - If you are on the WaitList and a place becomes available, you will receive an email with a link. Ensure you are logged in and then click on the link (or paste into your browser). You may then either cancel the WaitList reservation or book your place on the walk. The place will be held for 24 hours
Booking Process for Non-Members
- Non-Members may book on walks and event but are asked for a voluntary contribution of £5.
- To book a place on a walk, click on the “Guided Walks” green box in the centre of the Homepage or click on the menu item “Walking” and then “Guided Walks”.
Scroll down to the “View Walks and Events” green box. - Select your walk and book your place(s).
- If the walk is full, you can reserve a place on the WaitList.
- Non-Members cannot manage their bookings, so if you wish to make any changes, please email the [email protected]
