Guided Walks and Events Programme

If you wish to cancel a walk booking, please email the Walks Secretary.

We limit our groups to 16 maximum in order help to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.

  • The on-line system is now open for booking walks. You may book yourself plus one other member on to any walk. You will receive an email confirmation of your booking.
  • You do not have to sign in to book a walk – just fill in the form.
  • If the walk is full you may add your name to the Waiting List. You will be informed by email if a space becomes available. Please do not add to the admin burden by requesting information on vacancies. Note only one person can be added to the waiting list.
  • Non-Members may apply to be placed on the Waiting List. You will be informed by email if a space becomes available. Please do not add to the admin burden by requesting information on vacancies. (A £5 donation is requested, payable to the walk leader on the day.)
  • Please do not book on walks you may go on and subsequently cancel as spaces are limited and our walks are very popular.

Guidance for Society-led Walks

Below you will see some brief overview of our walks. We recommend that, if you have not walked with us before, that you carefully read the full guidance which is available here.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

  • All our Guided Walks are carefully graded to ensure that you know what level of difficulty you may encounter.
  • Participants must satisfy themselves that the walk is suitable for their abilities.
  • If you are not used to hill walking, then we recommend that you try and start on a Moderate Walk, so you can gauge your level of fitness and ability against our grading system, which is necessarily somewhat subjective.
  • You can get advice from the walk leader by ringing him/her on the telephone number given in the programme.
  • No liability will be accepted for loss or injury that occurs as a result of taking part.
  • A responsible adult must accompany young people (under18).
  • More information is provided on our Guidance for Walks page.
  • Our events are included in the programme.
