Landmark Trust talk on the Restoration of Llwyn Celyn
What an excellent talk Kasia Howard from the Landmark Trust gave us! Kasia truly brought to life the restoration of this medieval hall house which had been built in 1420 just a few years after Owain Glyndwr’s revolt against the Kingdom of England!
The site was a rundown farm when the restoration began, with water coursing through the main house, huge cracks in the walls and, on one of the walls, soil above window level that had moved down from the hillside over the centuries. Kasia took us through the magic wrought on this building by the skills of so many, restoring original timbers, doorways, roofs and so so, much more.
